Summary: The Mandarin Oriental in Munich is one of the truly great hotels of the world, and certainly one of the most beautiful classic 5-star hotels, and it has a perfect location as well. The rooms are perfectly appointed and immaculately clean, but the real value of this hotel is the staff, especially their Concierge and Front Desk personnel. On our recent stay I made several arrangements through the Concierge staff, and their level of service was outstanding. They arranged limousine services, had a beautiful custom flower arrangement prepared for my wife, and made reservations for dinner at an excellent local restaurant and at their hotel restaurants. They even arranged two (2) private tours for my wife & I of the historic town and of the last operating flour mill in Munich (historically critical to beer making in the area.) The breakfasts were delicious, as was their lunches & dinners. The staff regularly went out of their way to make our stay at their hotel special. Oh, and their new rooftop terrace has some of the best views of the city and outstanding drinks & sushi. We will definitely be returning to this grand hotel in Munich.
